Gaming Licence for Nevada

07.01.2009

ELEKTRONCEK, MANUFACTURER OF “LUXURY GAMING PRODUCTS BY INTERBLOCK”, PROUDLY ANNOUNCES ITS ACQUISITION OF NON RESTRICTED GAMING LICENCE FOR NEVADA

18 December saw the cracking of the hardest nut in obtaining the long sought-after licence granting access to the gaming markets. After seven years of hard work, with investments worth millions of dollars, Elektroncek, which already holds gaming licences in twenty-three federal states, has now added the greatest gem -  the state of Nevada.

After almost five years of ongoing work with Nevada’s State Gaming Control Board, Slovenian gaming expert Joc Pececnik and his colleague Thomas Zvipelj, together with a team of eight members, underwent the final hearing on their way to the most sought-after Gaming Licence in the world. Pececnik's group was composed of lawyers, American financial experts, veterans and former regulators; and thus, Pececnik’s company, Elektroncek, became the first European Union company to be awarded a Gaming Licence by the Nevada Gaming Commission. Elektroncek will, therefore, be able to produce, sell and distribute gaming devices in Nevada without any restrictions.

“I think the applicants have done a pretty remarkable job” responding to regulators’ concerns, Board Chairman Dennis Neilander said at the December hearing. Two years ago, Neilander had called the problems with the applications “irreparable.”

Elektroncek will soon begin distributing electronic versions of table games in Nevada and elsewhere in North America. The games, including roulette, blackjack and craps, are gaining popularity in regions where live dealers are prohibited.

Can the economic crisis in the USA in any way spoil his ambitious plans, which include tapping into 300 gaming halls and opening two hotels with 250 rooms?

“At present there are very favourable conditions for investments; that is, if you have the possibility to invest. The crisis cannot spoil our plans; however, it could limit their size and extend them over a longer period of time,” assesses Pececnik.

The renowned gaming machine manufacturer was recently admitted into AGEM - Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers - an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, and components for the gaming industry, which brings together 58 of the most innovative international companies in the field, including INTEL.
